DIVERSITY AND RELIGIOUS ACCOMMODATION CONSULTATION MEETING to take place in Sarnia on October 7th from 9:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at the St. Clair Corporate Centre, Suite 504, in the Gateway Room. DIVERSITY AND RELIGIOUS ACCOMMODATION CONSULTATION MEETING to take place in Chatham on October 13th from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the United Way Centre for Community Inovation at 425 McNaughton Ave West. The next Safe Spaces Community Forum will take place on October, 14th at Victoria Avenue Church at 91 Grand Ave East from 11:30 am- 1:30 pm. This meeting will further the discussion on how to create and promote Safe Spaces in Chatham-Kent. After assembiling the committee and holding a very informative information session on Sept. 16th at the Coffee Culture cafe we are all very excited to see this comittee move forward and start taking a proactive stance towards the lack of safe spaces in our community. The Cultural Coalition of Chatham-Kent will be hosting its 2nd Annual Multicultural Thanksgiving Brunch on October 24th from 10:30 am - 2:30 pm at St. Joseph's Auditorium at 184 Wellington St. West. The event will have delicious foods supplied by various cultural groups in Chatham-Kent as well as many Canadian breakfast favourites. Entertainment and door prizes will also be available. SUBWAY ROCKSTOCK FOR THE HEART begins on Friday, August 13th from 4:30 p.m. and ends Saturday, August 14th at 12:00 a.m. It all takes place in Tecumseh Parc. CHATHAM-KENT AMAZING RACE begins at 8:00 a.m. on August 14th and runs until 5:00 p.m. This event takes place across Chatham-Kent. The teams will be given hints to locations across Chatham-Kent where they will participate in various activities. W.A.M.B.O WEEKEND will be held in downtown Wallaceburg from 5:00 p.m. Friday, August 13th to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 15th. Come enjoy the antique aircrafts, boats, motorcycles, cars, and more. There will be art in the parc, along with a fire truck parade. Visit www.wambo.ca for further information. WORKSHOP SERIES: Starting a Business in Chatham-Kent at the United Way Centre for Community Innovation from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Cultural Coalition of Chatham-Kent along with the Foundation for Rural Living are hosting a series of workshops designed to help newcomers start their own business. There are four workshops: Starting a Business in Chatham-Kent on August the 6th, Developing an E-Business on August the 13th, Raising Capitol on August the 20th, and Market Research on September 10th. *The Market Research workshop will be held at the Chatham library* LABOUR DAY PICNIC will be held on Sunday, September 5th, 2010 at the Van Koeverden Orchard located at 13283 Magnacilla Line in Thamesville and will take place from 8:00 a.m. untill 5:00 p.m. This event is being organized by the Thai Volunteer Outreach Program and will feature health activities, a buddhist ceremony, lunch, thai ball games, soccer and more. There will also be four Monks making a special appearance from Richmond Hill and Niagara Falls. Big Caribbean Show and Dance will be held on Sunday 18, 2011 at the Knights of Columbus Hall located at 20 Dupuis Avenue, Tilbury and Sassy Hair Connections located at 225 Queen Street, Chatham from 8:00 pm to 2:00 am.
