The Cultural Coalition is delighted to announce a new partnership with the Chatham-Kent
Chamber of Commerce on the C-K Global Experience @ Work project.

What is it? A Chatham-Kent Chamber of Commerce initiative, which is sponsored by the Ontario Chamber of Commerce. It is the first step towards identifying employer needs and actively bringing employers and internationally trained professionals together.
What is the Cultural Coalition’s involvement?
We are partnering with the Chatham-Kent Chamber of Commerce to create:
- Global Experience Employers Network (GEEN) connecting local business with internationally trained professionals in order to create mutually beneficial relationships that ultimately benefit all of Chatham-Kent.
- Job Shadow Program: offering invaluable Canadian work experience to internationally trained professionals and an opportunity for them to showcase their talents to employers in need of different skills sets.
- Resource Guides: to aid both local employers and newcomers to the labour force and to provide insights and advice on areas such as cultural diversity in the workplace and Canadian business practices.
What will Chatham-Kent gain from this initiative?
- Employers will have access to a larger labour pool, will be better able to address skills gaps and will know where to go for advice on hiring and integrating internationally trained professionals.
- Employers will have the opportunity to interact with potential employees “on the job”.
- Chatham-Kent will be better able to compete against larger cities for internationally trained professionals by offering them gainful employment opportunities.
- Chatham-Kent will be viewed as an area that actively seeks out and encourages economic growth and business development by welcoming internationally trained professionals.
